Hollister United 0 –
MVLA Storm 2
United faced off against the MVLA Storm this past Saturday and
the young ladies sure gave the Storm a workout. The captains for
this game were Kylie G. and Allee. Hollister won the toss and the
Storm picked the side of the field they wanted to start on. From
the first blast of the ball United was putting forth all the effort
they could muster. During this first half the Storm controlled the
ball well and kept most of the play limited to the United’s side.
Kylie was doing and outstanding job defending the Goal, but it was
just a matter of time until the Storm found their mark. The
Storm did find the mark about 3/4 of the way through the half to put
them on the score board 1-0. This is way the game would be for
the remainder of the half.
The second half of the game continued with more battling on the field. There was no clear sense of control as both sides fought to get the ball on their sides. As the game heated up there was a lot pushing going on. The Storm were able to make a second score in this second half. Although the score was 2-0 the United looked like winners playing strong and looking much improved from the week before.
It almost feels like we have gone full circle now with only two games left to the Jamboree United will be facing PAC United one more time for a 9:30am home game
