Hollister United 2 – PAC United 1
Opening day for Hollister United was met with a beautiful day and the team’s new wind feather enjoying the breeze. The girls traveled to San Jose for their first game of the Fall Season.
The first half of the game was mostly uneventful. Hollister dominated and controlled the ball keeping play on PAC United’s side of the field. Hannah and Deanna both made many shots on goal to no, but PAC United's goal keeper was able to stop each of the shots. At the half the game remained 0-0.
With the second half of the game, PAC United was able to sneak through Hollister’s defense to make the first score of the game. PAC United then went into defensive mode to protect their score and keep Hollister from answering back. Despite PAC United’s efforts, Hollister did not give up and kept fighting. Alex found the opportunity to score and took advantage of it. The game was now tied. The uncertainty of who would win the game intensified. Both teams fought hard to get control of the ball. Hannah who had been playing an excellent game was able to break out to score and help Hollister United pull ahead 2-1. Hollister now had the advantage and moved into a defensive position to keep their lead. Alexandra, Jahkya, and Allee all fought to defend their goal. Kylie as goal keeper felt lonely throughout the game only touching the ball a few times because the defenders helped protect the goal so decisively.
